farewell september

9/30

Sitting by rivers
Dark and deep with history
Ghostly whispering.
9/29

This cough just won't leave
As if lodged deeply within
My heaving deep breaths.
9/28

I sat for Ixchel
Trying to ignore soft skin
Needles jab loudly.
9/27

Just to be thorough
Hugh sat near the stove to stare
Confirming no mice.

9/26

Sitting by the stove
Watching intently for mice
ALAS, with no luck.
9/25

What was once a cold/Turned vicious and monster like/Tripping over coughs.

Wednesday, September 24, 2008

A case of the nasty common cold beast

9/24

Booger runny nose
Pale, chapped crusty lips and skin.
Small daggers poking.

Tuesday, September 23, 2008

9/23

Autumn arrivals
Forcefully bringing on colds
Scratchy, aching throats.

FIRST DAY OF FALL

9/22

It is fall here now
Although green leaves still flourish
The sun sets early.

Wednesday, September 10, 2008

I'm taking a break.
obviously. yet i shall
return again soon.

9/4

I told the doctor
I was not the 'angry sort'
Clearly bad lying.

9/3

I get in bad moods
Except when mom cooks me eggs
And cleans my closet!

anal retentive

9/2

I like my house clean
I suppose it is because
My body is not.

Tuesday, August 26, 2008

Driving the East Side
A new landscape emerging
Around all new turns.

Beautiful IXCHEL
Sits fully identified
Atop my body

Politely she asked
If the tattoo in fact hurt
Needles jabbing skin.

Seven years is long
The love being gigantic
His body close by.

This week is over
Not wanting to relive it
It sits in ash heaps.

I could not make it
It was not so much sickness
Just the thought of you.

8/20

I am exhausted
I have done nothing but rest
Still my body aches

8/19

Like a good cripple
I arrived here full of hope
By the end, stabby.

Monday, August 18, 2008

I'm here

Between two islands
The century old bridges
Suspending skyward

Having been gone long
Lore seemed disappointed
Seeing a clean fridge.

Groveling on floors
Checking electrical plugs
No caffeine in sight.

A happy birthday
Nice wooden earring sanded
By crazy psychos.

I used the walker
Quite the hit at the gardens
My small arms now sore.

Prospect park picnics
Corn salad and smoked salmon
Mango ice and fruit.

I get frustrated
My anger explodes, burning
Sometimes scaring me.
